Are you shopping online for necklaces and uncertain of how they will look on you? This necklace length guide will give you the tools to figure out where that necklace you want will fall on your body.
When shopping for a necklace it is important to note the chain length. Standard necklace lengths are 16”, 18”, and 20” and most of my necklace lengths are adjustable to 2 or 3 of those lengths depending on the size of the pendant. Generally, smaller sized pendants are kept shorter (16”-18”) and the larger pendants are kept a bit longer (18”-20”). However, some of my designs like the are adjustable to all three lengths!
For example, the Sun Ray Pendant (top necklace) is adjustable to both the 16" and 18". The Small Alchemy Pendant (middle necklace) is adjustable to all three lengths, and the Large Alchemy Pendant is adjustable to 18" as as well as 20". All of this is noted in the listing of each piece.
But, every body is different and different necklace lengths will look slightly different on each person.
Here's how you can figure out how a necklace will fit on you:
1. Note the necklace length in the listing you are looking at. Click here to Shop Necklaces.
2. Using a flexible measuring tape (like a sewing measuring tape) measure around your neck to the length noted in the listing description to see where your necklace will fall. Keep in mind, there will be a bit of added length for the clasp and jump rings. Alternatively, if you don’t have a soft measuring tape for sewing you can measure the length of a piece of string with a ruler, mark the length, and then wrap it around your neck.
3. Keep in mind, the pendant itself will have a bit of length to it as well so make note of the dimensions of the pendant located in the description. Add the length of the pendant down from where the chain will lay to see exactly where your pendant will fall.
